INITIAL SUBMISSION

Notice for those interested to be selected by the associated Special Issues of SCI journals for the extended and revised versions of the ICSSE 2018 papers:

  1. Special Issue on: "Fuzzy Theory Featured Intelligent Systems", International Journal of Fuzzy Systems (2016 Impact Factor: 2.198). Selection policy:
    • Major track: Authors should submit their initial papers to the special session: "SS10 - IJFS special session: Fuzzy Theory Featured Intelligent Systems (Organizer: Prof. Shun-Feng Su)". Registered papers should be related to the fuzzy systems and will be reviewed and evaluated for recommendation for on-site review. If the paper has been recommended, a paper revision and extension should be followed according to the journal regulations. The final version of the journal paper is required to be at least 60% different compare to the paper in the conference proceeding and needs to be submitted to the IJFS official review system. The editors will make the final decision of acceptance or rejection for the journal.
    • Minor track: All the registered papers are allowed to extend their contents and submit them to the journal special issue directly. A detailed guideline for this track will be announced during the conference at the registration desk of the venue on 28-30 June 2018.
  2. Special Issue on: "Innovative services and emerging technologies of smart cities", International Journal of Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous Computing. Selection policy:
    • Major track: Papers which have been granted by the conference award committee along with those invited by the guest editors of the special issue and recommended by the conference publication committee, will be recommended to the journal for further review according to journal publication policy.
    • Minor track: All the registered papers are allowed to extend their contents, and submit them to the journal special issue directly. A detailed guideline for this track will be announced during the conference at the registration desk of the venue on 28-30 June 2018.

Authors should only submit originally written, unpublished work to ICSSE 2018. All papers must be written in English typeset in the IEEE-compliant US letter-size, 2-column format. Only portable document format (PDF) files are allowed for upload. All papers are presented either as an oral presentation or a poster presentation. The type of presentation will be determined by the Conference Editorial Board based on factors such as the reviewer’s suggestions and topic of the paper.

Types of Submission

The conference invites four types of submission: full papers, position papers, special-session papers (full and position). Authors must choose a submission type at the ISAS submission page.

Full Papers
Authors can submit their work as full papers, which should provide complete descriptions of finished work. Full papers accepted for presentation at the conference will be included in the pre-conference proceedings and the final proceedings, and will be published in the IEEE Xplore database. A full paper is limited to four-to-six (4-6) US letter-size double-column pages in its final version. At initial submission, authors of regular full papers must select the "Full Paper" paper type.

Position Papers
Authors may also choose to submit position papers on preliminary work. Position papers accepted for presentation at the conference will be included in the pre-conference proceedings, but will not be included in the final proceedings and will not be published. A position paper is limited to one-to-two (1-2) US letter-size double-column pages in its final version. At initial submission, authors of position papers must select the "Position Paper" paper type.

Special-Session Papers
Special sessions will be organized to present work that surrounds unified themes. Authors who accept invitations from organizers of special sessions may submit their work as either full or position papers. In the Submission information page, authors should choose one out of the special sessions under Paper Category.


Submission Requirements

All initial and final submissions to ICSSE 2018 must be written in English and typeset in the IEEE-compliant US letter-size, 2-column format. Only portable document format (PDF) files are allowed for upload.

Final Submission of Full Papers
All final versions of accepted papers are limited to four-to-six (4-6) US letter-size double-column pages at no extra charge. Authors may upload over-length papers up to a maximum of eight (8) pages. However, an extra-page charge of TWD 3,000 (USD 100) per page will be levied on the seventh and eighth pages.

Page, Format and Font Settings
Initial and final versions of full papers must be typeset in the IEEE Xplore-compliant US letter-size, 2-column format. Prospective authors are strongly advised to download these MS Word templates and LaTeX style files which ensure that the page-size, margin and font-size requirements are satisfied. If you choose to typeset your manuscript without using the provided style files and templates, then please strictly observe the settings here.


IEEE Xplore-compliant PDFs

Only PDF files will be accepted for both initial and final submissions. Final versions of full papers must be IEEE Xplore-compliant PDFs. Authors of full papers are asked to check for compliance during final submission.
